SERENITY – House near Bucharest

The interior unfolds as a quiet, tactile landscape, where architecture and design merge into a fluid domestic narrative. Conceived as a continuation of the exterior transformation, the spaces are defined by restraint, warmth, and a carefully curated material language.

At ground level, the living areas are organized as a continuous sequence rather than distinct rooms. The kitchen, dining, and living spaces flow into one another, connected through proportion, rhythm, and light. A sculptural kitchen island anchors the space, its soft geometry and mineral surfaces balanced by natural wood and muted tones. The palette remains intentionally restrained, allowing texture and light to shape the atmosphere.

Arched openings punctuate the interior, introducing a gentle counterpoint to the otherwise linear geometry. These elements act as thresholds rather than partitions, framing views and subtly guiding movement through the house. Custom joinery and integrated storage are treated as architectural elements, dissolving into the background while reinforcing the spatial clarity.

Material choices emphasize tactility and maturity. Oak flooring runs continuously through the living spaces, grounding the interior in warmth, while terrazzo, ceramic surfaces, and soft plastered walls introduce variation and depth. Lighting is layered and understated, accentuating volumes rather than objects.

The staircase is conceived as a moment of pause within the house—a sculptural gesture shaped by natural light and minimal detailing. Private spaces continue the same language of calm and material coherence, favoring soft contrasts, generous daylight, and a sense of quiet retreat.

Rather than seeking visual impact through excess, the interior is defined by balance and intention. Each element is placed to support everyday rituals, allowing the house to be experienced slowly, through touch, light, and use.
